As such, it’s ground zero for the affair between two Michigan legislators and their botched cover-up that garnered national attention last year. A pair of aides to former representatives Cindy Gamrat and Todd Courser recently had their whistleblower lawsuits reinstated by a federal judge, according to media reports.
You might recall that Gamrat and Courser tried to cover up their affair with a bizarre plot that involved creation of a cover story that Courser was having a gay affair. When the cover-up unraveled, the two representatives were widely ridiculed and eventually ousted from their legislative posts.
An aide who worked for Gamrat and an aide who worked for Courser were reportedly fired for relaying details of the botched cover-up to the speaker’s office. When Courser and Gamrat learned that the aides had reported to authorities their misconduct, the aides were fired.
A judge says the aides acted properly by reporting the misconduct.
